How to Succeed in Losing 100 Pounds
Last week I mentioned that over the course of the past 10 months I had only lost 15 pounds of the 100 that I wanted to lose. This was a little disheartening and spoke mainly to my lack of discipline when it comes to physical exercise and restraint with food! Since that last post I’ve been making progress.
- I’ve lost 8.5 lbs
- I’ve reach a small goal of swimming 1km with no breaks
- I recently (last night) swam my first 700 m in only 14 minutes!
- I’ve avoided fast food / junk food / and other temptations for 1 whole week!
I’ve been fortunate to have the support of many good friends in this journey and have realized that the key to success isn’t the absence of failure. In fact, it’s the opposite….PLUS.
Failing doesn’t feel very good. It stinks. But something that feels amazing is winning victories after failure hits. Getting back up and moving forward insure’s that failure doesn’t rest with me permanently. It’s simply a learning experience for me and a chance to change how I see things, how I react and how I adapt.
I’m getting stronger every day. I’m swimming faster every day. I’m climbing higher every day!
Losing 100lbs, isn’t about the amount that has to be lost….it’s about getting up when you fail, and leaving that failure behind.
I’m eager to hear from you! Let me know if you have any inspirational thoughts…or advice. I’m always open to more! Thanks for reading.
To Life…..
