Goals
"Discipline Equals Freedom"
Self-discipline is the root quality that will improve every aspect of your life. It's discipline to face your fears so you can conquer.

Long-Term
I've been learning that in order to feel purposeful in the moment, there needs to be a destination that I'm pointed toward. I believe that God sets eternity in our hearts for the same reason - to give us something to move towards. Moving forward is important not only so we can feel fulfilled, but also because of the energy created through that movement!
I've broken my goals into three areas because I believe every person is made up of these areas; The Spirit, The Soul and The Body. Having a long-term goal in each of these areas creates movement in life that brings purpose and peace.
Spirit
Seeing Halley's Comet
When I was 7 years old I was fortunate enough to be able to see Halley's Comet. I don't think I saw it with my own eyes, but I definitely remember seeing the news reports and being in my backyard looking into the sky, searching for it's long tail.
My goal is to see Halley's Comet with my own eyes. I'll be 83 years old in 2061 when it comes by again - the thought of this makes me feel small AND special all at the same time. I know this seems an odd goal for this section - but my whole life I've been working at connecting with God, and this is one of those things that we talk about.
Soul
Flying an Airplane
I don't know what it is about flying that I love so much. Maybe it's because when I was young our family flew to Nova Scotia a few times to see my Nan and Pop. Maybe it's the idea of freedom, not be constrained to roads or boundaries. Or maybe it's just the thrill of being so high and moving so fast.
My goal is to fly an airplane. And not just once - but to have my private pilot's license, own a plane and explore the world.
Body
Completing an Iron Man
The is one of my most ambitious goals. As a teenager I worked at our community pool as a lifeguard. Swimming always came naturally to me and though I'm not the fastest in the water, I do enjoy it!
